Stormbird Psychology is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what personal information is collected through this website and in the course of providing psychological services, and how it is handled.
When you use the enquiry form, the details you enter are collected: your name, email address, phone number and message. Referrers using the referral form also provide their own contact details and the client’s details, which should only be sent with the client’s consent.
If you become a client, health and other personal information needed to provide psychological services is collected directly from you, with your consent.
Your information is used to respond to your enquiry, arrange appointments, provide services and meet legal and professional obligations. It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing without your consent.
This website uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are visited, clicks and scrolling, and the type of device used. Clarity uses cookies. It is set to mask form fields, so what you type into a form is not recorded. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and Microsoft’s privacy statement explains how Clarity handles data.
Enquiries sent through this website are processed and stored by Netlify, a website provider based in the United States, before being delivered by email. By sending an enquiry you consent to this. Please do not include detailed health information in the enquiry form.
Client records are kept separately from the website in Zanda, a secure practice management system, and retained for the period required by law.
Your information is kept confidential. It is only shared with your consent, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law, for example where there is a serious risk to someone’s safety or information is subpoenaed by a court.
You can ask to access the personal information held about you, or to have it corrected. Requests are answered within a reasonable time.
Please get in touch first if you have a question or concern about your privacy: use the contact page. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
